I was thinking about selling crotchet patterns and to see this video, it's confirmation that I was on the right track.

All of this happened to me as an Amazon seller too: random suspensions for reasons that weren't true, competitor submitted a copyright infringement claim that wasn't true, Amazon support only sends irrelevant template responses, no one can actually help you. It was horrible!

Selling print on demand strictly on a platform is risky you are right. I have heard many people that self publish on Amazon KDP say their accounts were permanently banned. They do not give chances in many cases and do not enlighten people as to why it happened. They just leave people to try to figure it out on their own and fight to appeal. In most cases it is permanent and good luck trying to contact someone. Also Amazon takes peoples royalties when that happens and leaves people with nothing. In some cases the person was wronfully banned too for no reason. It's crazy. I have heard of UA-cam doing that too. Demonetizing people or banning accounts for reasons such as "invalid traffic" which many times people have no control over. They can't control who watches their videos on UA-cam. Thousands of dollars lost in many cases. That is why this advice is solid. Always have multiple ways to make income and a website set up you can control.

Its May 2024 and Etsy shut down my store 2 weeks ago, no email or anything, i was able to appeal and with in 1 hour an email came in saying after careful consideration. They still shut me down. This sucks as its nearly impossible to contact them and not sure why it takes 2 weeks to get back. Etsy is by far the worst, they need to shut the AI that shuts people down down now. sell on Amazon and eBay. Screw you Etsy.

For those who are just waiting for guy to land: don’t quit Etsy, but use Etsy as a background stream of income while focusing on other platforms that will drive traffic to your own website.

Doing this with AI will not fool real crafters, especially when they use the image generated by AI. I have seen these stores and the amount of complaints in the reviews is showing that this is a surefire way to get your store shut down. Etsy is cracking down. More bad advice from a UA-camr. Also, nothing is passive, and with a craft pattern, the customer service has to be there. If a customer gets stuck, the seller has to be there to answer the how-to questions. A non-crafter will never get away with this.
